This is NOT a made in China silicon bracelet but a made in Haiti by Haitians for Haitians bracelet

The HELP HAITI BRACELET was invented by Magalie Noel Dresse. The story goes like this:

"After the earthquake, my in-laws greeted a few hundred neighbors on their property. Those neighbors had lost their houses and were looking for a safe place to take refuge. This refugee camp received a lot of water bottles from helping NGOs. But the plastic bottles became a real nuisance after some time: they were all over the place on the floor, in the garden, in trees!

I then thought that it would be nice if I found something to do with them to clean up the place. We have been in the recycling business since the 1990's so it was a good new project. Then the concept took form: a bracelet made from those bottles, but with a twist. I wanted to thank all those who helped us with water while giving them some good news: the bracelet is made with newspaper or magazine pictures on the outside and newspaper articles on the inside..."

With the help of Choose Haiti, the Clinton Foundation and of World Vision we then started teaching refugees in camps the technique to make them. The video below shows the first training of 40 women in one camp. In November 1300 Haitians were able to make some money out of this project!
